Dachshund Rescue of South Florida saves the lives of abandoned doxies, pulling dogs of all ages from the Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach shelters and elsewhere.  Volunteers swoop in to save down & out doxies, providing temporary homes, addressing medical needs, and showering the dogs with care until a loving adopter and Forever Home is found. 

It's hard to imagine an unwanted, improperly treated, or discarded dachshund.  Amazingly, they exist and more than ever in these tough times.  They're uniformly wonderful dachshunds -- yearning for love, hoping for a comfy spot to call their own.  Please consider getting involved.  Volunteers, foster homes, adopters and donations are needed year-round.

Headquarted on Florida's west coast, FLDR takes in surrendered dogs and holds a raffle every year at the Winterfest.  They have some great items and all proceeds benefit dachshunds.

Keep the fun going all year long through your local dachshund meetup group!  Meet fellow dachshunds near you who gather for play dates and comaraderie.  Groups typically meet in fenced dog parks, public parks or indoor play areas for off-leash play, with an occasional beach or water park field trip, and even seasonal parties!  All small breed dogs are welcome to join as Honorary Doxies.
